Key Responsibilities
Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.‘Live’ Petrofac core values and apply them in day-to-day work. Provide Technical Safety Engineering technical support to, and implementing instructions from, the Lead Technical Safety Engineer.Assist with resolving technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Project Manager & Project Engineering Manager.To provide supervision and support to Technical Safety Engineering personnel within the assigned project team as directed by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer.Undertake with some supervision work scopes ranging from initial selection studies and field development studies through concept to detailed design, commissioning and operational support. Manages updates for the operational safety case and support/defend them to peers and client. Including, but not limited to:Fire Risk Analysis (FRA)/ Fire Explosion Blast Risk Analysis (FEBRA)Evacuation Escape and Rescue Analysis (EERA)Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis (TRIA)Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis (SGIA)Essential Systems Vulnerability Analysis (ESVA)Dispersion modelling/analysis, thermal radiation, gas plume analysis.Ensure the Technical Safety Engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response.(PFEER) performance standards are not compromised by any Technical Safety engineering activities.Provide As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demonstration, Active and Passive Fire Protection development and Hazardous Area Classification for workscopes that contribute to a safety case material change.Provide administrative and technical input to HAZOP/HAZID (including arrangement and participation).Develop a close working relationship with Client’s representatives.Ensure that all Technical Safety design changes are captured by the change control process.Contribute to the development of the plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes and keep the Lead Technical Safety Engineer appraised of progress against these.Act/deputise as a Technical Safety Engineering liaison point for project teams, clients and external regulatory bodies Must comply with Company engineering procedures and industry, international and client codes and standards, and assurance that team members comply with the procedures.Preparation of engineering scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.Responsible as a key member of any project team for achieving the project target and completion of the project within the budget and scheduleProduce documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks, and or, design books on time to meet project deadlines including, but not but not limited to:Safety Screening Document;HAZOP/HAZID closeout report;Construction Risk Assessment;Safety Concerns Register.Ensure that all Technical Safety work complies with Contract/BMS and Petrofac health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures; project specific SHE and quality plans; and agreed interfacing requirements with sub-contractors as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
Holds a relevant Engineering Degree (BEng/BSc minimum).Experience within the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry is preferred. Brownfield project experience is preferred.Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.Must be able to explain and present legislative compliance throughout project workscopes.Must be willing to travel offshore/siteCapable of representing Petrofac OPO and Client to business associates in a professional manner.Team playerComputer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific softwareAbility to investigate and interpret data.Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances.Ability to motivate and supervise other discipline personnel.Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and an ability to build effective working relationships across our global business.Good communication skills.
