Bilfinger UK has an opportunity for a Reliability Engineer. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for identifying and supporting the safe, reliable operation and condition of installation safety and production critical systems and equipment. The RE shall work with stakeholders to transform operating culture towards a high reliability framework utilising all available methods of communicating and reporting to identify progress and opportunities to improve based on mindset of continual improvement cultural transformation.
Key Activities
Develop and maintain asset specific reliability improvement roadmaps and monitor progress against each to asset managementActively support an organisational culture of high reliability to maintain the highest level of asset reliability and integrity. Review Safety and Production Critical Systems & Equipment status to identify equipment “bad actors” on each installation and implement equipment improvement programmes. Maintain working relationships with offshore and onshore production operations, technical authorities, verification engineers and discipline engineers and others as appropriate Facilitate root cause analysis on critical safety and production equipment to identify and implement short and long term remedial actions to prevent repeat failures. Maintain and implement a root cause analysis system for analysing critical equipment failures. Ensure key personnel have the knowledge and expertise to effectively utilise the system. Work with CMMS (Maximo) system owners to ensure system integrity is maintained and supports high reliability cultureReview requests to amend CMMS maintenance plans, in particular changes to Safety or Production Critical equipment. Changes to SECE plans to be endorsed clients TA’s.Act as focal point for equipment condition monitoring and analysis, ensuring that changes in condition are addressed in timely manner.Work with Asset Focal Points to identify opportunities to defer or reschedule maintenance to maximise equipment outages.Review and make recommendations for min/max levels of asset critical spares, including insurance spares held by vendorsAttend, where required, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for new and refurbished equipment Develop and maintain agreed suite of reliability metrics to present to asset leadership that demonstrates development of reliability program, eg ‘Bad Actors’, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Asset Uptime, etc. Build and maintain Asset Reliability Availability Model (RAM) for each asset, identifying critical asset reliability ‘pinch points’Review request to defer maintenance on safety and production critical systems to identify potential risk or opportunities to improve maintenance activitiesReview Operational Risk Assessments (ORA) on safety or production critical systems to ensure potential integrity barrier risk is minimised to ALARP statusWork with relevant interfaces to ensure that input to and changes to IAP activities are provided in a timely manner and that consequences are mitigated.Provide technical input to the facility risk registers. Issue identification and prioritisation. Ensure that contracts for the provision of Reliability Engineering support activities are effectively managed.Carry out regular offshore visits to ensure that offshore teams are aware of, and working within the reliability framework.
Experience & Qualifications
Good understanding of practical and theoretical principles of offshore production operations Previous experience or working knowledge in use of MaximoWorking knowledge of Permit to Work system. High level of skill in reliability availability modelling calculationsSelf-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or equally as well on own initiative. Mandatory Offshore Qualifications, eg BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etcEngineering Degree qualified, minimum Technical Education HNC/HND with relevant offshore experienceExperience of offshore operations Excellent knowledge of reliability engineering, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislationContract management experienceGood written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externallyRelevant technical experience gained within a production operating environment
