Your new role, what’s involved?
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Project Manager with knowledge of either Pharmaceutical, Food, Chemicals, Oil, Gas or Hydrogen Sectors to join our Industry Team based across the UK. The Industry Team expertly manage projects ranging from small single discipline concept studies through to large multi-disciplinary consultancy and design projects. WSP recognise that the Industrial Sector is constantly transforming along with the growing global demand for energy.
Leading (or supporting) on a variety of Industrial related design projects and ensuring that projects/programmes of varying size and complexity are delivered successfully to time, quality and budgetCoordinating a multi-disciplinary engineering design team of dedicated and knowledgeable technical and project management professionals; Reviewing enquiries and preparing proposals for prospective projects or frameworksProblem solving with colleagues and clients to achieve the best-value outcome for the available funds;Ensuring designs, drawings, reports, correspondence, certificates and other outputs are prepared, reviewed for quality, and approved before they are finally issued to the clientSupporting, coaching and mentoring colleagues to ensure they benefit from your knowledge and expertise;Exercising independent engineering judgement; resolving technical issues without unnecessary escalation, able to provide innovative solutions to engineering problems;Building strong and effective relationships with client officers where we strive to achieve common objectives and build lasting relationships;Ensuring that business/project risks and issues are foreseen, escalated, recorded and managed effectively.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
An in-depth understanding of the full project lifecycle including, concept, definition; implementation and close out to realise project deliverables and benefits;Experience of design and Project Delivery in any of the Industrial sectors;Membership of a relevant professional discipline (i.e. APM, PMI) and have extensive practical experience appropriate to the role. Knowledge of scope management, resource, budget and cost management;Appropriate health & safety qualification (i.e. IOSH, NEBOSH) and a good understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015Knowledge of stakeholder management, value, risk and project quality management;Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation;The drive and determination to deliver work packages from start to finish with a focus on time, cost and quality, to ensure you deliver the right product at the right time;Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications including MS Project and familiarised with Autodesk AutoCAD. The ability to bring forward new ideas and collaborate and explore new ways of working;The desire to work collaboratively with clients, contractors and colleagues to make sure we’re all striving for the same desired outcomes;Leadership qualities including managing conflict and negotiation to desired positive outcomes. Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status, or at least working towards professional recognition, would be an advantage.
