This role is part of our strategy to expand and develop our capability in identifying and delivering new gas, clean fuels, and hydrogen related projects as part of the global energy transition to achieve net zero infrastructure.
We require an experienced business development lead ideally with a proven engineering oil and gas industry background, to work as part of our established team to identify and capture new opportunities for the company. The role would be focused on the UK and European region initially but would entail working with our other international offices and international clients.
The Primary Responsibilities For The Role Are
Spearhead our UK, European and global business development effort in target markets, identify and position for opportunities, support proposal preparation and be a point of reference for project delivery teams, in compliance with our energy strategy.Build on our established successes in hydrogen projectsWork as part of an established team and our carbon capture specialists, such that the Hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Clean Fuels hub meets its operational and performance targets.Support the gas, clean fuels, hydrogen, and carbon capture technical leads, facilitating seamless and effective coordination in Europe and between other international regions.Identify and develop new clean fuels opportunitiesAct as Account Leader developing new clients and coordinate with existing Account Leads to develop client relationships.Taking a lead role on strategic recruitment of the necessary skills and resources to meet service demands, including necessary adaptations to meet global energy transition trends.Leadership of specific ventures or outcomes from the company investment in hydrogen and clean fuels where scale or importance necessitate. In certain instances, this may also include acting as the Project Principal on key projects of significant importancePromote cross-sector collaboration.Support the upskilling and knowledge base of other non-energy people, sufficient for them to be a reference point for the application of gas, clean fuels, and hydrogen in cross sector opportunities.Promote Group interests in Gas, Clean fuels, and hydrogen, through general media, conferencing and specialist channel positioning and engagement, including contribution to media campaigns.Maintaining up to date records and quarterly reporting.
Candidate Specification
About You
Candidates for this role should as a minimum, be degree qualified, chartered, and have an appropriate engineering or project management background in energy with a specific focus and recent track record in energy transition.
A proven track record in a senior leadership/ business development role is also expected.
Candidates must be proactive individuals who have a passion for and have some experience in areas related to energy transition, energy infrastructure that will need to adapt to meet net zero ambitions and the hydrogen and clean fuels value chain – clients, suppliers, prospective partners, technologies, digitalisation, key market players, regional trends and national policies.
Whilst the role is expected to include a significant level of external client engagement and business development, we also expect the individual to be actively engaged with project delivery and these activities include- project and programme management, concept design, FEED, detailed engineering design and asset management. The remit will include cross sector projects as well as those solely within the energy sector.
