WSP Industry are seeking to grow its Decarbonisation capability in the UK to support an exciting and growing pipeline of projects across three main sectors:
Advanced Chemical Manufacturing, Fine Chemicals & FibresGas and HydrogenPharmaceutical and Life Sciences
We are a multi-disciplinary process industries design team that involved from initial concept through to completion of projects. Our core work is conceptual and detailed design work, but we regularly get involved with all stages from site master planning/feasibility all the way through to construction completion. We provide our own estimates and proposals support in winning work through delivering the designs not only as part of our own multi-disciplinary team, but often in collaboration with Clients.

Our core industry teams are based in Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and around the North-East, but WSP have offices across the UK.
Specifically, we are looking for a person with deep industry experience who can lead the growth of our decarbonisation business across all three key sectors, working with our clients to assist them in achieving Net Zero.
Your new role, what’s involved?
You will on a day-to-day basis provide support to our teams and clients on approaches to decarbonisation in each of our sectors as well as acting a s a trusted advisor for our clients in the most cost-effective way to achieve Net Zero targets. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team you will provide technical support to teams and work on some of the most challenging and high-profile projects across the industry sector.
From a Project Delivery perspective, you will lead consultants, engineers and design technicians to achieve the agreed quality technical solution, cost, and programme across a wide range of projects in all the industry sectors, as part of the Water, Energy, and Industry business unit within WSP.
In a client facing role you will play a major part of changing the shape and delivery of our decarbonisation offering, developing strategies and target markets.
You will:
Providing technical expertise to teams and clients in achieving Net ZeroLeading and providing technical oversight by assuring the quality of design work within WSP Industry. Working closely with the client, project team and key stakeholders to produce high quality designs and specification compliant with requirements. Applying best in class design tools and software to improve the quality and efficiency of project delivery. Design, review, and approval of technical design documentation in compliance with our Business Management System. Supporting junior colleagues with technical delivery and learning opportunities in both hydrogen and decarbonisation. Supporting Client care and business development across all 3 sectors. Work winning and Business DevelopmentStrategic Planning for new clients and opportunities. Support our proposal teams with technical delivery strategies.
